Two Men Detonate Russian Explosives in Biliaivka, Kherson Region

Two men in the Kherson region, at the village of Biliaivka, were injured by Russian-made explosives located in a nearby forest. Both victims have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The Kherson Regional Military Administration released this information on their Telegram account.

The report detailed that the first victim, a 58-year-old man, stumbled upon the explosive while collecting firewood in the forest. The resulting explosion resulted in the loss of part of his leg. He was taken to the hospital and is currently receiving necessary medical treatment.

Later, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported another incident involving a 62-year-old man. The statement released said that “two local residents have been injured by Russian explosives in Biliaivka.”

The 62-year-old was transported to the hospital after triggering a mine in the forest. The blast resulted in the traumatic amputation of his toes, and his current condition is described as moderate.

Related news from the area included a report of aerial bombs being dropped on a village in the Kherson region. This attack resulted in two civilians being injured.

The Regional Military Administration has issued a reminder that the right bank of the Kherson region is likely to be laced with mines. They advise locals to stick to areas that have been cleared by sappers.

Sappers have examined a total of 198,190.6 hectares in the reclaimed territory of Kherson region according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration. Out of this, 171,416.5 hectares comprise of agricultural land. So far, more than 145,000 explosive devices have been discovered and defused. As previously announced, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration has stated that every group will include demining teams, indicating that clearing the area of explosives will be a long-term project.
