Arsht Center Unveils 2024-25 Broadway Season in Miami

Excitement is in the air as the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts unveils the 2024-25 season lineup in association with Broadway Across America. Subscription packages for the season are currently available. Although familiar Broadway hit musicals Mamma Mia! and Chicago are making a comeback, Dale Edwards, the center’s vice president of marketing, tells New Times that the selection of shows varies each year. Their expertise mixed with yearly surveys ensures popular crowd-pulling shows are targeted. Edwards affirmed their constant aim is to cater to all preferences and attract maximum Broadway enthusiasts.
According to Edwards, Miami’s diverse community ensures an audience for every show. The center endeavors to choose shows that are novel to the viewers. The current season includes two classic Broadway plays, two adaptations of famous films, and two musicals inspired by the lives of notable musicians. The 2024-25 lineup includes Some Like It Hot (December 3-8), Tina: The Tina Turner Musical (January 14-19, 2025), Mamma Mia! (February 18-23, 2025), MJ The Musical (March 18-23, 2025), Beetlejuice (April 29-May 4, 2025), and the enduring classic Chicago (June 17-22, 2025). Amidst the six amazing shows, Edwards is particularly thrilled about Some Like It Hot and MJ The Musical, both of which are making their South Florida debuts at Arsht in the coming season.
Some Like It Hot, a Broadway adaptation of the 1959 film, along with MJ The Musical, the highly appreciated Broadway musical based on Michael Jackson’s life, have piqued Edwards’s excitement. For all six shows, a subscription package is priced at $230, equating to less than $40 per show. This is a worthwhile deal for Miamians to experience the magic of Broadway in their locale. Moreover, the Arsht Center endeavors to enhance patrons’ overall experience with ‘Broadway on Biscayne’, a pre-show entertainment program launched during opening nights. From costume contests to live debates, audience members can anticipate an entertaining evening before the main performance.
“We aim for our guests to have an amazing time at the Arsht Center before the show even begins”, emphasizes Edwards.
