Historic Variations of Galar Starters Shared by Pokemon Fan
A passionate player and artist in the Pokemon community envisions how antediluvian versions of the eighth-generation starter Pokemon might look.
A Pokemon enthusiast illustrates their interpretation of prehistoric versions of Cinderace, Rillaboom, and Inteleon. Since the introduction of the Pokemon franchise’s ninth generation by GAME FREAK, fans have speculated about past and future potentials of their favorite Pokemon. This curiosity has resulted in fascinating new designs for many Pokemon.
In the eighth generation of the franchise, the initial Pokemon introduced were Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. The final evolutions of these trios received their own Gigantamax forms in the Isle of Armor DLC with unique attacks. One player opted to conceptualize and sketch alternative versions of these final evolutions, imagining their appearance in an era preceding the game events.
A Reddit user, Mindrawz, posted sketches of their envisioned prehistoric forms of Cinderace, Rillaboom, and Inteleon. These redesigned versions of the Pokemon alter not only their physical appearance but also their Types. Cinderace transforms into a Fire/Electric type, Inteleon becomes a Water/Dark type, and Rillaboom becomes a Grass/Fighting type. Mindrawz also sketched the Shiny versions of these Pokemon, maintaining color schemes close to the original designs. The artist’s interpretations retain the essence of the original pocket monsters coupled with added creativity and novelty.
A Pokemon Enthusiast Visualizes Prehistoric Forms of Eighth Generation Starters
On Reddit, the prehistoric adaptations of Cinderace, Inteleon, and Rillaboom drawn by Mindrawz have attracted some attention. Numerous admirers expressed their preference for these alternate versions, particularly Cinderace’s Fire type. Some loved it because they were not a fan of the original design. A handful of comments suggested these adaptations should have been the original eighth-generation starters as they preferred these over the anthropomorphic original versions. Mindrawz’s take on the three Pokemon was appreciated for providing a novel perspective.
Mindrawz is among many artists who are conceptualizing prehistoric forms of different Pokemon species. Several players have developed archaic versions of Pokemon like Dragapult and Gyarados, projecting their past forms in a time preceding the game events. This exercise helps fans have a fresh perspective of older Pokemon and appreciate them anew. These alternative designs showcase the creativity within the Pokemon fan community, often impressing followers with their innovative artwork. Players continue to innovate and reinterpret Pokemon forms known to RPG fans, creating artwork that is enjoyed by all.
