Overwatch 2 Reportedly Delays Season 10

The launch date for Overwatch 2’s Season 10 has been subtly shifted back, making players wait a little longer to experience the game’s newest hero.

Originally, the commencement of Season 10 was scheduled for April 7 but has now been postponed to April 16. Despite not having a solid initial release date, it now seems that gamers will have to delay their introduction to Enterprise, the game’s 40th hero, by an additional week.

Following the release of a major midseason update about a month after its initial launch, Season 9 of Overwatch 2 is now halfway through its cycle. Given that each Overwatch 2 season lasts approximately eight weeks, the in-game Battle Pass timer had previously indicated that Season 9 would end on April 6, suggesting that Season 10 would kick off on April 7.

However, Overwatch 2 has subtly extended the predicted start date of Season 10 by one week. Based on the most recent update, the Season 9 Battle Pass interface now shows players have an extra seven days to complete it. Unless there are further delays, it now seems that Season 10 of Overwatch 2 will commence on April 16, not April 7.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 Launch Delayed by a Week

• The in-game display currently shows Overwatch 2 Season 9 ending on April 15, a week later than the previous April 6 date.

Although the initial Overwatch 2 Season 10 launch date of April 7 wasn’t official and was deduced from the in-game interface, the concrete release date has yet to be revealed. Therefore, it’s possible that the tenth season could be delayed further. However, it definitely won’t be earlier than April 16.

The addition of Enterprise in Overwatch 2’s tenth season marks the debut of the first DPS hero since Sojourn. The underground explorer will be the 40th playable character and the game’s first nonbinary character. Overwatch 2 players will also notice a slight modification to Wrecking Ball in Season 10, meaning they’ll have two new hero kits to test out once the update is live.

On a positive note, the delay allows players more time to advance their Battle Pass for Season 9. The current season offers experiences like eldritch horror-themed cosmetics and the coveted Mythic Ancient Caller Moira skin for those who opt for the premium upgrade. Other current in-game events include Hero Mastery: Gauntlet game mode and Overwatch 2’s collaboration with Cowboy Bebop, both of which provide many opportunities to earn Battle Pass experience. Plenty of activities are available to keep players entertained as they anticipate Season 10.
