Trump Mandated to Pay Nearly $355 Million in Civil Fraud Case

Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York, addressed the media following today’s ruling on civil fraud. She expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, which she said represented “a victory for every hardworking American who plays by the rules.”

In her statement, James emphasized the importance of the law applying to everyone, no matter their wealth or political influence. She refuted the notion that business mogul Donald Trump was beyond the reach of the law, criticizing his practices and character in passing.

She mentioned that the eleven-week-long trial had exposed the severe extent of his fraudulent practices. She explained how the trial had revealed deceptive tactics by Trump and his associates against banks, insurance companies, and other financial establishments for personal gain.

James also stressed the unjust benefits Trump, his family, and his company had received from his fraudulent actions. She reiterated that white-collar financial fraud was not a crime without victims; causing losses for the working class, small businesses and families as those in power manipulate more than their fair share of resources.

James also appreciated those who contributed to the case from her office. She concluded her remarks by emphasizing the shocking scale of Trump’s fraud, his inflated ego, and his disregard for rules.

According to James, this ruling holds Trump accountable for his actions. Following her statement, she chose not to take any questions from reporters and exited the room. Her remarks were consistent with the statement released by her office earlier that day.
