Tyreek Hill Accused in Florida Lawsuit of Breaking Model’s Leg During Football Lesson
Sophie Hall, a model and social media personality, has accused NFL star Tyreek Hill of forcefully colliding with her during an outdoor football drill, resulting in a broken leg. Hill allegedly invited Hall to his upscale South Florida home to participate in the drill and grew upset when the game didn’t go his way, according to a lawsuit Hall filed in Broward County court. Hall suffered a fractured right leg in the June 2023 incident, following which she underwent surgery to implant metallic hardware.
According to the suit, Hill, instead of calling for medical assistance, dismissed the seriousness of her injury, leading Hall’s two million Instagram followers to question his actions. Hall’s lawsuit, filed on February 23, has charged Hill with both assault and battery and negligence.
The influencer, who stands six-feet-one-inch tall, initially connected with Hill over Instagram direct message. Soon after her 10-year-old son attended Hill’s youth football camp in Boca Raton High School. Hill apparently admired Hall’s height, joking that he was ‘looking forward’ to seeing her ‘tower over everyone’ at his camp.
Post the football camp, Hall was invited to Hill’s lavish Southwest Ranches mansion in Broward County, replete with a basketball court and a large turf field. Her flight and travel were sponsored by Hill, who also arranged a car to pick her up from the airport when she arrived on June 28, the lawsuit claims.
Hall alleges that after a training session with his own trainer, Hill invited her to an offensive line drill, instructing her to rush him as if she were aiming for a quarterback takedown. Her tackling him down resulted in laughter from the onlookers – Hill’s family and friends, the lawsuit says.
Hall believes Hill was embarrassed by being knocked down, leading him to change his demeanor. The model mentions another simulation in which Hill’s forceful charge led to her leg fracture. She describes being in significant pain but alleges that no one called an ambulance. Rather, Hill suggested she lie down and rest her leg but allegedly failed to arrange for an appropriate medical response.
Returning to her home in Pasco County, Florida, Hall’s physician confirmed the fracture. Medical images indicating her broken leg led to orthopedic reconstruction surgery, and the addition of metal hardware to support her healing bone. Hall’s lawsuit also mentions that she is undergoing physical therapy.
Additionally, the lawsuit refers to Hill’s apparent “record of violent behaviors towards women.” Hill admitted to domestic assault in 2015 following accusations of him choking and punching his then-pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal. He faced immediate expulsion from the Oklahoma State University football team after the incident and was sentenced to three years of probation.
In 2019, Hill was investigated by Kansas law enforcement for possible child abuse linked to his then-three-year old son’s broken arm, while Hill played for the Kansas City Chiefs. The charge did not lead to a case due to insufficient evidence. Hill joined the Miami Dolphins in the 2022-2023 season, where he emerged as a key offensive player.
Legal controversy pursued Hill further in August 2023 after he was accused of assaulting a man at Haulover Park near Miami Beach over fishing permission, leading to a settlement.
