Usher Reveals Miami Dates for Past Present Future Tour

Do you remember the first time you heard the track “Yeah!” which was released in 2004? This song alone played a major part in popularizing crunk, previously an underground subgenre of Southern hip-hop, into the mainstream. The song’s producer, Lil Jon, also features in it alongside Ludacris. Although Lil Jon dubbed it as “crunk&B,” – a fusion of crunk and R&B – in retrospect, it was definitely a pop song. It took esteemed singer Usher’s fame to unprecedented levels. The album that hosted “Yeah!,” titled Confessions, obtained diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, symbolizing sales surpassing ten million. Usher also had a series of number one tracks like “Burn,” “Confessions Part II,” “My Boo,” and “Love in This Club.”
This success underscores the dominance of Usher in the 2000s music scene. He rivalled Justin Timberlake, who too, was incredibly successful during this era owing to his hits created with Timbaland. Both artists are often credited as defining voices of the 2000s.
Fans will get an opportunity to watch Usher perform live when he inaugurates his Past Present Future Tour on August 20 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The tour will make a couple of stops in Miami at the Kaseya Center on October 11 and 12, the only scheduled appearances in Florida.
The tour comes on the heels of Usher’s triumphant two-year Las Vegas residency, “My Way: The Las Vegas Residency,” which comprised 100 shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
