Karma to Offer Updated Revero Hybrid Alongside New EVs

Karma Automotive, based in California, is preparing to debut a duo of high-performance electric vehicles, the Gyesera sedan and the Kaveya sports car. The company will also continue to produce an improved version of the Revero series plug-in hybrid sedan alongside these newest models.

Karma’s origins as a company can be traced back to the remaining fragments of the original Fisker Automotive. Their inaugural model was the 2017 Revero, an extensively revamped version of the former Fisker Karma series plug-in hybrid.

In 2021, the Revero was refurbished and rebranded as the GS-6. However, under its present leadership, Karma intends to return to the Revero moniker for the most recent variation of the series plug-in hybrid. This new model will start production in the third quarter of this year, taking place at Karma’s facility in Moreno Valley, California.

Karma claims that this latest incarnation of the Revero will provide up to 80 miles of electric range, surpassing the outgoing GS-6’s 61 miles.

The remaining components of the powertrain will match the performance numbers of the GS-6’s powertrain, including a pair of electric motors on the rear axle which provide a combined 536 hp, and a BMW-supplied turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-3 upfront, used purely as a generator for the battery. Assuming a full charge and a full tank of gas, Karma predicts the range will exceed 360 miles.

Karma’s debut electric vehicle will be the Gyesera, which premiered this past weekend at the 2024 Amelia Island Concours d’Class. Production of this model is set to commence late this year or possibly early next year. The Kaveya sports car, previewed with a concept last fall, is planned to begin manufacturing in 2025.
